Summary:
The first generation internet used centralised methods, where just a few individuals controlled everything published on-line and which many would later use. Time has shown that most of these applications were perceived by users as extra work-load rather than a useful tool. This first generation was a success for those programs which administer the most established assets, such as ERP and CRM.

Web2.0 had a more democratic approach, where programs were issued, quickly created and enhanced according to the needs and motives of the users themselves. An active community is a key ingredient.

Semantic technology (Web3.0) allows for automatic interpretation of documents, that’s to say, working with unstructured content (html, documents, mail, presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs, etc.). This unstructured content makes up, according to estimates, 80% of the businesses’ core information organisations. The remaining 20% consists of more traditional tools, such as ERP, CRM and databases.

At this round table iSOCO puts you in touch with speakers from organisations with real-life experience in the use of this technology. They will share their inspirations, worries, experiences and the lessons learned.
